test_improve_your_memoryTest And Improve Your Memory (DVD Box)

Stretch and build your “mental muscles” in a unique and fun universe with 12 different exercises and difficulty levels. You can track and compare your performance with other individuals of the same age, gender, and educational level.

Developed in by a team of experts including a neurologist, a psychologist and computer-human interaction expert, this beautiful and innovative memory improvement game contains 12 exercises with multiple levels and options. These fun games exercise memory, logic, language and attention – areas that are frequently of deficit within the autism spectrum. They also allow you to view each session and track improvement. This program provides a terrific mental workout for the entire family.

I especially liked the extensive selection of games that help to strengthen visualization – visualization can be an area of deficit for children with Asperger’s Syndrome. Some of the verbal games are more at an adult level. Fortunately, you can focus exclusively on those games that are most beneficial and appropriate for your child’s age and level of ability.

The game interface is a little more complex than a typical kid’s game, but the games provide an awesome workout of visualization and verbal memory skills. The program starts with a panorama of a rotating view of the earth and them presents a map of the earth. You may click on pins on the globe to go to a country – each game is played in a different country. Each game has many options and levels of difficulty, providing term challenge and hours of play.

Visual Games

  • There are eight visual games that will give your child a terrific workout:
  • Sleight of Hand – pictures of a hand – you have to determine whether the hand depicted is right or left (even if the hand is shown in a mirror)
  • Points of View – see three dimensional objects viewed from a specific perspective and identify from which position you are viewing the objects.
  • Basketball – basketballs are sitting in a hoop; you have to determine the minimum number of moves to create a new pattern that is shown.
  • Heraldry – you see a crest of a noble family and have to recreate it.
  • Icons – find the icons don’t match in a group displayed.
  • Stars – finish a word puzzle where words interlock in a star pattern. Requires visualizing where letters will intersect.
  • Matching Pattern – visualizing whether a pattern matches or not in a group of tiles (having to rotate some tiles mentally to imagine if they match or not)
  • Private Eye – which picture doesn’t match in a grid.

Verbal Games

  • There are four verbal games, which will be challenging to high functioning kids, helping to develop and strengthen strategies and ways of categorizing and retrieving information and words:
  • Split Words – syllables are shown – you need to make them into words.
  • Elephant Memory – teaches you to organize words by category, helping with memory retention.
  • Fifty/Fifty – Tests common knowledge and expressions by finding the correct match.
  • Secret File – sorting words by categories into words in a secret file.

Test and Improve Your Memory software was developed by a group of neurologists and psychologists. The program uses recently developed technologies proven to improve spatial, recall, perceptual, and other types of memory in three groups of test users. The software is now in a special DVD edition.
